Travelling safely, because this is home to us
India is big, busy and sometimes overwhelming. That is why we keep the whole organisation in our own hands and pay extra attention to safety, quality and personal guidance. Below you read what we arrange, what you prepare yourself, and why safety stays teamwork.
What we arrange
This is what we do to make the trip as safe and comfortable as we can.
We organise everything ourselves
Every hotel, every place and every stretch of transport is chosen and booked by us in advance, tuned to what Dutch travellers find comfortable. Saurav, Cecillia, Priyanka and Naman travel along and translate where needed.
A SIM card on arrival, so you are always connected
Every traveller receives an Indian SIM card at the airport, with calls and internet. You are always reachable and can always reach someone, whatever happens.
An AirTag with your name on it
Everyone gets an AirTag labelled with their own name. That way we know at every moment who is where, even in a busy bazaar or at a station.
A list of minimum requirements
Well before departure you receive a list of what you arrange yourself: passport, visa, insurance, an appointment with the GGD or your doctor, your own medicines. Plus a packing list, so the chance of disruption stays as small as possible.
Packaged drinking water
Packaged drinking water is provided for everyone for the entire trip in India, on the bus and at the hotel.
Support that is physically present
We travel along ourselves. If something goes wrong, we are right there with you in person, not at the other end of a phone line.
For the unavoidable
However small or big a medical emergency is, we do our best to stay with you in person.
The real India, not a standard group tour
This is not an organised trip from a travel agency. You spend your days with a family that lives and works in India: you see the city through their eyes and hear why things go the way they go. Precisely because the trip is so personal and the group so small, we can do this.
Safety stays teamwork
We arrange what we can arrange, but no trip is without risk, and you help too. This is how we keep it safe together:
- Follow the team's instructions, even when something would be perfectly normal in the Netherlands.
- Tell us where you are going if you want to head out on your own; someone from us is happy to come along.
- Report complaints, even small ones, right away. The sooner we know, the easier it is to solve.
- Bring your own medicines, and tell us beforehand what we should know about your health or mobility.
What you prepare yourself
A few things can only be arranged by you. We help, remind and double-check, but the responsibility is yours:
- 1A passport valid for at least six months after your return.
- 2An e-visa for India, applied for online with the Indian government. We send you the steps and check your application.
- 3Travel and cancellation insurance with worldwide cover. Mandatory, not in the trip price; we help you choose.
- 4An appointment with the GGD or your doctor, well before departure, for advice on vaccinations and medicines. We do not give advice on that ourselves.
- 5Your own medicines in sufficient quantity, in their original packaging.
Before departure you receive a list of minimum requirements and a packing list from us, and we go through everything at the preparation evening in Friesland or online.
What is in the trip price, and what is not
Hotels, transport, meals, guides, entry fees, SIM card, drinking water and the guidance are in the trip price. The international flight, the visa, insurance, tips and personal spending are not. The full breakdown is open on the trip page.
