Reizen naar India

About us

Two countries, one family

I was born and raised in India and have lived in Friesland for years. My wife is Dutch. Together we take Dutch travellers to the country where my family still lives.

How it started

Every time we visited family in India, friends came along. First one, then a few. They found it remarkable that everything was simply arranged: a cousin waiting at the airport, an uncle who knew the driver, my mother cooking. No hassle, no uncertainty, but the real India.

Those friends all said the same thing: everyone should be able to do this. That is how Reizen naar India came about. Not a big travel agency, but a family with two home bases that organises a handful of trips a year, and travels along.

Those first trips also gave us Koken uit India, our cooking workshops in Heerenveen. Anyone who has stood in the kitchen with us knows how we work: calm, precise, and with pleasure.

In the Netherlands: Saurav and his wife

We are your point of contact before the trip and travel along as tour leaders. You simply speak Dutch or English with us, about everything: from the visa to whether to bring a power strip.

IN

In India: the family

My parents, brother and cousins live in Delhi and in the mountains. They know the drivers and hotel owners personally, drive the routes beforehand and are reachable day and night during the trip. You eat at their home the first evening.

How we work

Small

At most 12 to 14 travellers per trip. So everyone fits in one minibus and at one table.

Honest

The full price breakdown is on the site. What we earn is on there too.

Calm

Rather three nights in one place than packing every day. We travel the way we want to travel ourselves.

Personal

You know us before you leave. Intake call, preparation evening, and the same faces on the road.
